Who We Are
Hillcrest Villagers Youth Rugby, a club rich in its heritage, has been inspiring and developing talented boys and girls from U7 to U18 over the years. At Villagers the love for rugby is alive and never limited! This is a brotherhood that sees the game thrive right through into the Senior level. No matter your age, there is one thing that holds us all together, the love for the game and pride for the little club that has become a sleeping giant.

About Us
At Villagers we believe in developing a love for the game of rugby while teaching life skills like commitment, dedication, teamwork, sportsmanship and respect too. Our experienced and qualified coaches are passionate and committed to developing these players on and off the field. They give their all for the development of the players – on a volunteer basis. These are incredible individuals who truly care!




Practices and Subs
Our Minis season runs from February to June and our Colts season begins in the beginning of July to October. Our practice evenings are a Wednesday and Friday from 17:30-18:30 at the bottom fields of the Durban Shongweni Club. The cost for the 2025 season is R1050. For Mini’s and Colts Season’s these cost is broken down as follows: this includes the players kit and annual membership to the Durban Shongweni Club.












Code of Conduct for game days
01.
The KZN Rugby Union
The KZN Rugby Union, together with the affiliated clubs request that at all times, spectators afford the referee, touch judges and players the respect they deserve.
02.
Abuse and insults
Abuse and insults hurled at match officials and players will be severely dealt with. Please respect all decisions. Encourage by all means, but please refrain from condemning, they are all doing their best out on the field.
03.
Foul language
Foul language, verbal abuse or racial abuse of any kind does not have a place in our game. Action WILL be taken against offenders.
04.
Support your club and your kids
Support your club and your kids – let the coaches and managers do their jobs. Any interference from parents will not be tolerated. Remember it’s a team sport.
05.
Confrontation
Avoid confrontation with the opposing parents and supporters and applaud them when they deserve it – it will change a lot of attitudes. We are here for the kids. They must learn to enjoy the game.
06.
Enjoy the tournaments
Enjoy the tournaments, act civilly, set high standards for your club, and project a good image as we always tell our younger players.
